This illustrious school was founded by French missionaries in Coimbatore close to the Cathedral Church. The growth of this institution, in the beginning, was due to the untiring efforts of Rev. Fr. N. Rondy. This School became a High school in 1884. It was in 1887 that this school sent the first batch of students to the matriculation Examination of the Madras University in 1892, this was upgraded to a second-grade college. but was soon converted to the status High School, as it was found difficult or compete with the Government College close by.
