History of the School
Since 1860
This illustrious school was founded by French missionaries in Coimbatore close to the Cathedral Church. The growth of this institution, in the beginning, was due to the untiring efforts of Rev. Fr. N. Rondy. This School became a High school in 1884. It was in 1887 that this school sent the first batch of students to the matriculation Examination of the Madras University in 1892, this was upgraded to a second-grade college. but was soon converted to the status High School, as it was found difficult or compete with the Government College close by.
After the retirement of Rev. Fr. Rondy, Rev. Fr. Headmaster C. Pette and Rev. Fr. J. Marin served as Fr. G. Boulanger took two years each. In 1904 Rev. charge this Institution and showed a keen interest in developing the character of the students and the tone of this institution. Then Rev. Fr. P. Jambeau came in 1920 as Headmaster. Again in 1905 Rev. Fr. Boulanger became the Headmaster for the second time. The next year Rev. Fr. M. S. Indian Father took over the reins of this great institution. Masilamani the first of the administration laid great stress on discipline as well as education for 18 years. after his demise, Rev. Fr. J. S. Arulsamy came In 1944. Under his leadership. the school won laurels in not only studies. but also in games and sports.

Then Rev. Fr. M. M. Chinnayan took charge of this esteemed institution in 1956. It was during his period, the centenary celebrations of this shool were conducted. The beautiful centenery auditorium and the Engineering section were his main accomplishments.
1972, Rev. Fr. M. Antony After his retirement in Lawrance with his long experience as the Principal of the Garmel Garden Matriculation School took the reins of this illustrious institution. He is the architect of the modern school building. He has completed the second floor spend- ing about four Lakhs of rupees. He has arranged seperate laboratories for Physics. Chemistry add Biology, at a great cost. It is under his regime that the school is up - graded as a higher Secondary School with English Medium sections right from stds six to twelve.
We can never forget those who dedicated them - selves for the develpment of this institution in the past, Rev. Fr. Boulanger, Rev. Jambeau. Messrs. M. S. Poorna- Innadhimuthu Gounder lingam. N. M. Venkatasamy Nattar.

Aims of the School
1 To Inculcate faith in God
2 To improve the educational standards of the pupils 3 To develop the discipiline and character of the pupil 4 To develop a sound physique of the pupils.
Rules of the School
1. The School hours are from 9:15 a. m. to 4:00 p. m. with an hour's break for lunch from 12-45 p. m. to 1-45 p. m.
2. For cathelle boys there will be Catechism for three days in a week. from 4:00 p.m. to 4-45 p. m.
3. All pupils should be in their respective classes at the second bell of each session. At the time of the prayer all should stand up and repeat the prayer. with due respect. Lactomers will not be admitted in the class without an admission Chit from the Headmaster.
4. The School uniform consists of White Shirt and khakki shorts or longs.
5. All pupils should bring the necessary books and nots
books as per the time table every day. Those who fails to to bring them will not be kept in the class.
6. Pupils are not allowed to go out of the class during school hours without the permission of the headmaster
7. After lunch students are expected to spend their time in studies either Inside the class or outside under the trees. They should not indulge in any play at that time. They must do the same if they happen to come earlier in the morning.
8. When they go from one class to another. Silence and orderllines must be maintained.

9. If anyone is missing at the time of attendance, he will be considered absent for the whole session.
or before the day of leave, duly signed, by the parent. They may be sent by post also. If anyone is to take leave for the afternoon session, he should get permission from the Headmaster in person. and should bring the leave letter the next day.

11 If anyone is absent for five days consecutively. his mame will be struck off the roll. In case of read- mission. he has to meet the Headmaster with his parent. The Headmaster is consultation with the class master may or may not, admit him again. In case of readmission, 50 paise will be collected,
12 Pupils who take long leave owing to ill health, should submit medical certificate before hand.
13 Cycling within the school premises is forbidden.
14 Pupils should not waste the drinking water. They are expected to use is economically.
15 They must keep to the left while going upstairs or comming downstairs.
16 Pupils should stand when the master enters the class and keep standing till he takes his seat or asks them to sit. So also they must stand up when he goes out of the class at the end of the period.
17: It is forbidden to write on the walls and other articles. Damaging the school properties. irregular attendance. disobedience or disrespect towards masters and the school office staff or any other kind of misbehaviour will be seriously viewed. They are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of the student from the school.
18 Each class is divided in to four houses an each hou should keep the class room clean and tidy by turn. 19. All pupils should write all the tasts and examinations conducted in the school. Anyone indulging in copying or any other malpractice will not be promoted After the tests and Examinations, progress reports will be sent to the parents through their children. They must be sent back to the class master duly signed by parents. All parents are expected to co operate with the school authorities.
20 No private tution should be arranged without the written permission of the Headmaster.
Library
All pupils should make the best use of the Library There are thousands of books on various subject both in English and Tamil Pupils. may take books from the librarian and return them on the due date. If the book is torn or lost the price of the book along with a fine of 50 Paise will be collected..
Literary Association
This association helps the students to develop their talent in speaking in public. So all are advised to take active part in the literary meeting and improve their elequence N. C. C. Scout and the Red - Cross
Pupils are advised to join these in order to become good citizens.
Physical Education
Every pupil should apend about an our daily in any game he likes. Every one should also participate regularly in the physical activities of the school. A sound mind in a sound body is the maxima. Proper participation in games and other physical exercise will not only improve the health but also help study the lessons well.
